With an almost 30 year heritage the BMW M3 has become a bench mark in everything from racing, performance, everyday drivability, and luxury. Every other manufacturer makes their vehicles with the BMW M3 as their target. It's that good! Starting in 1985 with the first E30 M3, which is well known to be one of the best driving cars of all time, it set a precedence that everything after that car had to be better. BMW continued to build their "M" badged cars with the idea of "The Ultimate Driving Machine." And that they did. Following the E30 came the E36 in 1992, the E46 in 2000, the E92 in 2007, and now there is a new king. The 2014 F82 M4:
The new M4 came to us at PSI on June 30th in Sakhir orange with Sakhir orange interior. Its sounds like it might be a little much but it really is breath taking and a perfect combo. Here at PSI we did what we do best and immediately started modifying the brand new car. With less then 1000 miles on the odometer we fitted a set of H&R lowering springs to get the car sitting a bit more aggressive and we also fitted a brand new set of very rare Volk TE37 wheels in Hyper Bronze!
Its amazing how a set of wheels and lowering the car just a bit can completely change the look of the car.
Seeing that this car is so new there are not very many products on the market to instal, however, we were sure to get the first of every prototype product out there! Seeing that we had already added some cosmetic features to the car we turned our focus to performance. The stock M4 comes from the factory with, for the first time ever in an M3, a turbocharged 6 cylinder motor. Power ratings were not much more then that of the previous generation with 425 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, however it weighs almost the same as the E46 M3, two generations ago. Now for most people this is more then enough power for anyone to handle. Not for us here at PSI. We worked with a company called Gintani to get one of the first pair of catless downpipes in the country. We also worked with Burger Motorsports to get a tune to try and release as much power as possible from the 3 liter S55 motor. With the tune alone the car has 509 hp and 522 kb-ft of torque. With the two upgrades in conjunction I would venture to the guess that the car is close to 550 hp.

The two newest editions to the car are the custom fabricated, color matching, roll cage and the first ever prototype fully adjustable BC coilovers for the suspension and handling. They only add to the appearance of the car on the inside and also give the car an even more aggressive stance and make it look almost like a purpose built race car. With power like that, it pretty much is a race car!
Stay tuned for some updates on this car. New wheels, a Vorsteiner areo kit, and racing seats are on the way. This car will be at SEMA in November and it will be a show stopper!
